Erin Fisher

With over 20 operatic roles to her credit, a handful of oratorio, musical theatre, pop and jazz credits, Erin Fisher has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Canada, the USA and Europe, and is also a member of the award-winning, international touring vocal group: ViVA Trio.  She first graced Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre stage as a soloist in the Canadian Opera Company’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro at the age of 21.

Fisher embraced her passion for music at age 5, studying and performing singing and piano. Fisher grew up singing pop, jazz, musical theatre and classical music, before attending the University of British Columbia (UBC), where she studied both voice and piano. In her 4th year of university, Fisher was offered a contract to sing with the Canadian Opera Company. Fisher graduated from UBC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and a Major in Opera, after which, Fisher sang with the Canadian Opera Company as a soloist for three seasons.

 

As a soloist, Fisher has performed numerous operatic roles, musical theatre roles and art songs, throughout North America and Europe. She has worked with prestigious conductors and some of the best teachers and coaches in North America and Europe. Her most memorable performances during her engagment with the Canadian Opera include Dorabella in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte, and Idamante in Mozart’s Idomeneo, and her Les Adieux concert for the COC’s Free Concert Series.​  

 

Fisher enjoys diversity in her performing and is hired to sing a variety of genres from jazz and pop, to classical, musical theatre and opera. Her favourite musical theatre role was Lily in The Secret Garden with Podium Concert Productions, at Trinity St. Paul's in Toronto. Fisher was pleased to make her debut with the Peterborough Singers in Handel's Messiah, and was honoured to perform with the International Symphony Orchestra for their Christmas Concert Series: Christmas Moods & Magic.

As a member of ViVA Trio, she has toured across Canada and the USA and also performed in Europe. The trio has had their songs used in commercials, and the group's music has had radioplay across Canada and Internationally. The trio has appeared on podcasts, TV, magazine, radio and newspaper interviews. With ViVA Trio, Fisher has released an 11-track album NOTHING ELSE MATTERS, recorded with live orchestra and a 17-track album WINTER LEGENDS, a concept album of all original music. ViVA Trio has also released over 30 videos on their YouTube channel and their channel now has over 1 Million views.

Fisher has taken a step back from performing to raise her son and turn her full attention to teaching. She has been teaching privately for over 15 years, and is a committed teacher, who cares deeply about her students and their progress. Fisher developed her own unique approach to teaching voice from the beginning, but her VMM Vocal Mastery Method fully solidified in 2022.

"After over a decade of teaching, I realized that healthy vocal technique is really based on your ability to master 3 main skills (VMM 3-Ring Approach). It was out of that realization that the Vocal Mastery Method was born. When I started applying the VMM 3-Ring Approach in my teaching, my students started to make progress significantly faster, and I knew that I had created a system that could help a lot of people speed up their journey through vocal technique.

Of course in singing there is no magic bullet. Each of those three skills takes time, sometimes years to master, but having this simple, distilled down understanding of what you need to do to master your voice makes the journey faster, more efficient and more clear."

With her launch of Vocal Mastery Method, Fisher aims to train singers, artists and teachers and create an ecosystem for success. She is highly motivated to see her singers and artists achieve high levels of success in their respective genres, guiding the careers of her singers in whatever genre they are destined for, from opera to rap, country to musical theatre, jazz to pop, and everything in between! and motivating all of her Roster to greater success.

Her focus is her VMM Roster of singers and artists at the pre-professional to professional level, and all of her students regularly compete, audition, perform and record.

The Vocal Mastery Method is an easy to understand method that helps singers advance far faster to their technical singing goals. Our goal is to get you to your goal as efficiently as possible. In singing there are no short cuts to the work, but we aim to eliminate all confusion of the how, why & whats that come up in the process with a clear and concise method that makes the work move quicker.
