VMM Masterclasses & Workshops

VMM Masterclasses

We host Masterclasses for High Schools, Colleges and Universities. Our VMM Founder & Master Teacher, Erin Fisher runs all VMM Masterclasses, and Outreach programming. She has coached Artists in every major musical genre and is comfortable working with Artists & Singers at all levels. Generally speaking, each student will receive 15-20 mins of coaching.

These are the genres that Erin coaches in Masterclass settings:

* Opera/Classical

* Musical Theatre

* Jazz

* Pop (Pop, Rock, Country, Singer-Songwriter, R&B, Rap etc)

Please ask all students to have 2 songs ready to perform. Singers/Artists will perform their first song (their choice) and receive feedback, and the second song can be performed if time permits. In order to run a Masterclass please ensure your Singers/Artists have everything they need to perform (pianist/band, instruments, music gear, mics, backtracks). Please provide your students' sheet music, lyric sheets (yes, this is even helpful for Opera!--just speeds things along), and a translation if in another language. A microphone is ideal for bigger spaces so everyone can hear the feedback.

VMM Workshops

Some academic institutions like to include Workshops with the Masterclass experience. Our most popular VMM Workshop is the VMM Breath Workshop. Our VMM Breath Workshop is beyond most university level teaching and has become part of our secret sauce.

We will provide all VMM handouts to Workshop participants. Depending on how big your space is and the number of students participating, a microphone may be required to run the workshop.

VMM Workshops we offer:

* VMM Breath Workshop (our most popular)

This workshop teaches the innovative VMM Breath and breath development, which when applied will guarentee to increase breath stamina.

This workshop requires space for everyone to lay down, ideally on yoga mats, towels or something similar.

* VMM Vocal Mastery Method Technique

This workshop requires a VMM Vocal Technique Lecture first. See below to explore VMM Lectures.

* VMM Vocal Expression & Acting

Depending on how big your space is a microphone may be required to run the Workshop.

* VMM Stage Presence

This workshop is best held in an auditorium with a stage or large open space for each participant to move. If it is a smaller group then it is ideal if all participants have a song they are working on and we have either to have a pianist or backtrack play their song just to try moments.

* VMM Career Workshop

This workshop is requires a speaker system, ideally a white board (or something similar) for brainstorming work. Depending on the number of participants, a microphone may be required to run the Workshop.

VMM Vocal Technique Lecture

VMM Vocal Mastery Method Vocal Technique Lectures are something we are especially passionate about because sharing the revolutionary Vocal Mastery Method that our VMM Founder, Erin Fisher, has developed, is our mission. We are on a mission to help Singers & Artists make effective, healthy vocal progress at speed, and we've found aside from using our Vocal Mastery Method, our Singers, Artists and Teachers need to deeply understand and remember the information in order to better apply it. This is where the Lecture style teaching is so effective because we can deeply discuss Vocal Mastery Method technique. Our VMM Lecture will be presented with a visual slide show & handouts for everyone to follow along. There will be time for questions and demonstrations given along the way. This VMM Vocal Technique Lecture is great when paired with the VMM Vocal Technique Workshop, so everyone can then put into practice aspects of what they have learned.

In order to host the VMM Vocal Technique Lecture some form of slide show projection is required, and a microphone is required for big spaces. This workshop can fit into the space of 1 hour, but is best if there is 1.5 hours to deeply go through the material and answer any/all questions that come up.

VMM Lecture for Music Educators

This lecture is designed specifically for Voice Teachers to learn the VMM Vocal Mastery Method and be empowered to apply whatever aspects of the method will work in their teaching. In this lecture, our VMM Founder and creator of the Vocal Mastery Method, Erin Fisher will lead you through the foundations of the Vocal Mastery Method and cite the many realizations and profound connections she's made over her 15 years of teaching, from the past and present. Your teachers will receive VMM handouts to assist them in understanding of the VMM method.

Guest Speaker

VMM's Founder & Master Teacher, Erin Fisher handles all Speaking Engagement requests and is flexible to craft a talk around your event. She is passionate about sharing her revolutionary method of teaching voice, the Vocal Mastery Method, has over 15 years of experience teaching and over 20 years of performing professionally. She has taught a wide range of Singers & Artists from all ages and genres, who have performed across Canada and Europe. VMM mentors award-winning Artists and competitive Singers in all genres, including Opera & Classical, Pop, Musical Theatre, Rap, Country, Rock and everything in between.

VMM Artist Career Coaching Class

The VMM Artist Career Coaching Class is all about getting Artists motivated and on-track to success and onto the next steps in their unique career. This program is part class, and part workshop, including group brainstorming for each of their unique career paths. In this Coaching Class, Artists will use their creativity, group ideas and feedback and suggestions from the VMM Master Teacher to create a strong plan of how to move forward with prioritization on what to work on first. Plus your VMM Master Teacher will focus on a skill set that can help serve the group best, and will decide based on the group, what is needed most. So each Coaching Class is completely unique.

Artists need to be ready to showcase their music, marketing material, and share their performance history and experience with the group to get the most out of the class. This Coaching Class works both if all the Artists are from the same genre or from all different ones. It is the gathering of many creatives together that creates the magic!

VMM Founder, Erin Fisher, who runs this class, has sung on big stages to thousands and small stages to hundreds, across North America and Europe. She has performed as a professional opera singer, a musical theatre performer, jazz singer, crossover singer and pop singer. She has audition experience, showcasing experience; she's had managers, agents and labels. However she's mostly a DIY indie artist and has a lot of skills to share, and the passion to get you motivated! This class can be run both online or in-person. To host this Coaching Class, all that's required is a space with a paper flip board or a chalk or white board.
